The Stark County Planning Team is preparing a Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The county was successful in obtaining grant funds from the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services and FEMA to support this important planning project. KLJ, a multi-disciplinary planning and engineering firm, was selected to assist the county in developing the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan.
A Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan presents a strategy for reducing the impacts of natural and human-caused hazards in the county and its communities.
This plan includes two primary elements:
Risk Assessment – Includes a description of all natural and human-caused hazards in the county and its communities. Each hazard is evaluated to determine community risks and vulnerabilities.
Mitigation Strategy – Includes mitigation actions to reduce the impact of priority hazards. The actions are organized into an implementation plan that includes priorities and a timeline.

As meetings occur, a copy of the meeting materials will be added below, and as plan documents are drafted, the documents will be included on the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Documents page.
